Planetary Bodies

Planetary bodies or celestial bodies are all of the movable objects in the heavens, mostly seen, and some unseen. In classical/traditional astrology, the visible planetary bodies are taken into account. These are typically referred to by astrologers as โ€œplanetsโ€ because they are “wanderer” among the seemingly fixed stars in the sky.

We have the Sun and Moon, which are technically luminaries (but that is just a classification). As well as Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn. In modern astrology, the outer planets are also included, they are, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. (Pluto has been demoted as a planet in astronomy circles but not astrology circles).

Other planetary bodies that might be loosely referred to or treated as planets would be other astrologically significant points in the heavens such as, Hermetic Lots, Lunar Nodes, and certain Asteroids such as Chiron, Eris, Vesta, and Pallas Athene.

Apparent Motion

Direct Motion โ€“ The normal motion of a planet. The Sun and Moon are always in Direct motion. All other planets can also move in a retrograde motion at varying times.

Retrograde Motion โ€“ When a planet is moving backwards through a zodiac sign from a Geocentric position. Astrologers tend to interpret this as inner directed energies for the personal planets.

Retrograde Shadow โ€“ The degrees traveled by a planetโ€™s retrograde motion. Usually only a few degrees. Every time a planet stations direct, it takes some time to get back to the original degree prior to its retrograde ingress.

Stationed Direct โ€“ When a planet apparently slows down and stops to move into a direct or forward orbital motion. This is a potent and powerful motion. Sometimes stillness and presence is powerful in itself.

Stationed Retrogradeย โ€“ When a planet apparently slows down and stops to move into a retrograde or backwards orbital motion. This is a potent and powerful motion. Sometimes stillness and presence is powerful in itself.

Astrology and the Rising of Kundalini: The Transformative Power of Saturn, Chiron, and Uranus

Astrology and the Rising of Kundalini: The Transformative Power of Saturn, Chiron, and Uranus by Barbara Hand Clow

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I enjoyed this book a lot. I would recommend it to anyone who is interested in learning about the impact of Saturn, Uranus, and Chiron transits may effect them as well as how to harness what it might mean. This is geared toward the nature of mid-life crisis and the potential it holds as soul growth and evolution.

There is discussion about metaphysical, scientific, and mundane knowledge and how to synthesize this into one’s own being or at least, being aware of it, via the chakras, astrology, and shamanic underpinnings. This book is easy to follow and because it is an audio book there were additional pdf’s to reference while listening for visual reference.

Pairing Down My Deck Collection

Many of my fellow Tarot Nerds have offered assistance with helping me pair down my collection. I just wanted to give a status update. This selection is based on my daily tracking statistics as well as my aesthetics for seasonal use and go toโ€™s for self and client work. The goal is to keep all working deck contained in this chest.

โ€œDaily Pullsโ€ Deck Usage Statistics of 2018

40 decks made it in the Star Wars themed treasure chest so far. 2 decks are missing from the photo, they are the Cosmic Tarot and the Darkness of Light Tarot; as I am currently working with them.

I have 5 tarot decks currently on preorder. Trionfi della Luna Paradoxical Rose, the Spirit Keeperโ€™s Tarot, the Light Seerโ€™s Tarot, the Muse Tarot, and finally Tarot de Marsella Robledo. I am hopeful these will make it into the treasure chest and there will be space for them.

That is a total of 47 decks that have either โ€œsparked joyโ€ or I do not feel โ€œmehโ€ about. The โ€œmehโ€ method worked well for me and allowed me to get through the process relatively quickly.

This is the first wave of pairing down my collection. It has been rough because I enjoy all tarot. But I feel like Iโ€™ve made some lead way in lighten the load while still feeling like thereโ€™s enough versatility to cater to my professional and personal needs as well as my moods and personality.

โ€œI’ve never fooled anyone. I’ve let people fool themselves. They didn’t bother to find out who and what I was. Instead they would invent a character for me. I wouldn’t argue with them. They were obviously loving somebody I wasn’t.โ€ย
